Wolf Creek Generating Station Operating License: NPF-42
'i During an NRC inspection conducted on April 16-20, 1990, a violation of NRC
. requirements was identified.
The violation involved a failure to have_ adequate procedures.
In accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure-for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1990) (Enforcement Policy), the violation is listed below:
Failure to Have Adequate Procedures Technical Specification 6.11 requires that procedures for personnel radiation protection shall be prepared consistent with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 20 and shall be approved, maintained, and adhered to for all operations involving personnel radiation exposure.

requires that the licensee maintain and implement a respiratory protection program that' includes written prc,cedures regarding selection of respirators.
Procedure _ ADM 03-600, " Respiratory Protection Program," is the designated procedure regarding requirements for the licensee's respiratory protection program.
Contrary to the above, the inspector determined on April 20, 1990, that Procedure ADM 03-600 did not contain the required information to verify that the user is issued a respirator of the same model.and size for which they were. fit tested.
This is a Severity Level IV violation.

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation-is hereby required to submit to this office, within 30 days of the date. of the letter transmitting this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including for each violation:
(1) the reason for the violation if admitted, _(2) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved, (3) the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations, and (4) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending the response time.
