ADVISOPY COMMITiEC ON THE MEDICAL. USES OF ISOTOPES (ACMUI)
Purpose:
To ciscuss plans for expanding the ACMUI and holding meetings more-frequently.

-Disc ssion:
In a staff requirements memorandum dated April 23, 1990,

the Commission directed the staff to expand representation i'
on the ACMUI to ensure a balanced view on policy and technical issues, and to ensure that the ACMUI meets at least semiannually, with the next meeting before the end of June 1990.
In response to the SRM, the staff made a telephone survey.
l of.all members of the ACMul; the earliest date that allows complete phrticipation is July 10, 1990. The staff has.
scheduled a mooting for that date in Bethesdaifiaryland.
4 At_that meeting, the staff will brief_the ACMUI on'the status of the medical use quality assurance rule-and the' petition:
for rulemaking on nuclear medicine and, nuclear pharmacy.
The staff will also ask the ACMUI for guidance on changes in medical use training and experience criteria. iFinally, the staff will discuss expansion of the ACMUI membership in accordance with Commission guidance to ensure a balanced view.
