L 1 approve the propox 6 amendment to the Agreement with the State of Utah.
When the Commission enters into a Section 274b agreement with a State, the authority and responsibility to administer the radiation control program rests with that State.
This includes the authority to grant exemptions as permitted by 10 CFR 61.6.
In this case,'if Utah ultimately decides to grant an exemption to the State or Federal ownership requirements j
for a Ice level waste disposal site, it is within their authority to do so, provided the exemption meets the provisions of Section 61.6.
