Dear Dr. Hochreiter:
j Thank you for your letter dated March 15, 1990, expressing an interest in obtaining the COBRA-NC computer code.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will arrange to transmit to you the diskettes containing the code provided Westinghouse Electric Corporation (W) agrees to the following conditions:
1.
W will not release the code software to any third party unless that third party has also obtained an agreement with the NRC.
]
2.
W will notify the NRC of any reactor safety problem that may be uncovered through the use of the code.
3.
If W discovers code errors, W will communicate these errors to the NRC.
4.
W will make any nonproprietary analyses using the code available to the NRC.
5.
If W makes any nonproprietary improvements or modifications to the code, these improvements or modifications will be made available to the NRC.
Should any code improvements, or modifications, or the results of code use be determined to be company proprietary, the NRC will utilize its procedures to protect such information if it requests to receive them.
6.
W will provide NRC with a nonproprietary summary of any proprietary modifications to the code developed by W, including a summary of the impact on representative predictions.
7.
W is solely responsible for obtaining any assistance needed to implement or use this software, p
In interpreting the results of your analyses using this code, bear in mind l
that the assessment of the code has not been quantified.
We do not warrant the accuracy of the results for any particular use or application.
