Dear.Mr. Virgona:
nThe'NRC has completed a' review of the Utility Worker Health: Risk Analysis
-submitted on September 8, 1989.
The purpose of this analysis.is to supplement.
eight previously submitted-Radiological and Engineering Assessments (REAs) to address the issue of potential utility worker health risks. -The potential health risks arise when workers perform repairs on ' utility lines where contaminated materials remain due to-the application of supplemental standards.
The analysis concludes. there'isino clear present or future' health risks,to utility workers due to potential-gamma-or radon exposure. 'We agree that the data supports?this conclusion, and therefore concur with the use of this
. analysis as a supplement to.the eight previously submitted REAs and in.any future utility line requests for: supplemental standards.
