Crooks Central Valley Region 3443 Routier Road Sacramento CA 95827-3098 ORDER 85-210 MATER DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS - RANCHO SECO NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION. SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT

Dear Mr. Crooks:

In accordance with the monitoring and reporting requirements of the subject order, attached is a summary of the Haste Water Qualit/ Honitoring Program at Rancho Seco for February 1990. Additional comments are as follows: 1. Rancho Seco has been defueled. 2. The maximum waste water flow rate was 15,000 gallons per minute for one quarter hour on February 17. 1990, 3. Haste water discharges amounted to 389.1 million gallons for February. 4. The total dissolved solids (TDS) maximum in the waste water discharged was 100 parts per million, based on conductivity. 5. Flow through the sewage plant averaged 13,851 gallons per day. 6. Visual inspections of the site boundary indicated no. floating or suspended matter, discoloration, or bottom deposits. 7. Total coliform result of 1600 MPN is questionable because the free chlorine concentration was 0.2 ppm at the time of the coliform sample. An investigation is underway to determine possible sources of error.
