LAR 19-017 Audit Questions - January 22, 2020 Related to the draft LAR supplement (APP-FSAR-GLN-1118_LAR 19-017 Supplement)
- 1) This document states: In addition to this test, as noted in UFSAR Subsection 6.3.2.2.5, the PRHR HX inlet and outlet line temperatures are monitored by indications and alarms. The operator can take action, as required, to meet the technical specification surveillance requirements or follow emergency operating procedures for control of the passive residual heat removal heat exchanger operation. Technical Specifications 3.5.4 and 3.5.5 as well as their associated Surveillance Requirements, have no requirements for PRHR line temperatures. SR 3.5.6.1 does have a requirement for IRWST temperature, but there is nothing specific to the PRHR line temperatures. Given that the operation of the PRHR is based on natural circulation where the driving head is due to the temperature difference in the PRHR line, discuss the temperature difference required and why there is no associated TS/SR.

- 3) The LAR supplement proposes the addition of a PRHR subsystem line resistance acceptance criteria (3.085E-06 ft/gpm2). [
