Gentlemen:

Subject:
Retransmittal of Application for Amendment to Dispose of Industrial Waste Treatment Products Without Continuing NRC Licensing Controls, License SNM-1107, Docket 70-1151
Reference:
Letter dated January 29, 1982 (LA 82-24) from A. J. Nardi to R. G. Page The Westinghouse Electric Corporation hereby resubmits the transmittal letter referenced above which requests an amendment to License SNM-1107.
The purpose of this retransmittal is to delete an incorrectly stated reference to an EPA standard.
The purpose of this application is to request an amendment to License SNM-1107 calcium fluoride)posal of industrial waste treatment products (primarily to authorized dis without continuing NRC licensing controls under the guidelines outlined in NRC Branch Technical Position SECY 81-576.
These materials shall conform with Option 1 described in the NRC Branch Technical Position in that the average concentration of uranium constituents shall not exceed 30 picocuries per gram and thus, present no risk to public health or safety.
A positive aspect of this proposal is that valuable, limited burial space at the country's low level radioactive waste disposal sites will be conserved and thus, become available for optium use by other waste producing entities.
