Gentlemen:

Id' GENERIC LETTER 82-1 NEW APPLICATIONS SURVEY HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 Pursuant to the above referenced letter, Public Service Electric and Gas Company plans to submit the following application, and request the following topical meetings with the staff between now and December 31, 1984.

1.

The reactor facility operating license application is currently scheduled to be submitted March of 1983.

This submittal date is based on a fuel load completion date of January 1986.

2.

PSE&G Co. tentatively plans to request the following meetings with the staff in advance of the FSAR submittal date of March 1983:

a.

Unit 2 Withdrawal of Application - Per NRC Request b.

Appendix R Requirements - Second Quarter 1982 c.

ASME Code Requirements - Second Quarter 1982 d.

Environmental Qualification of Electrical and Mechanical Equipment - Third Quarter 1982 e.

Control Room Complex - Fourth Quarter 1982 The aforementioned topical meetings would probably not be over two days duration each.

These meetings are aimed at presenting Hope Creek Generating Station unique design features, programs, etc., and obtaining staff input in these areas prior to the FSAR submittal.
