MBTROPOLITAN EDISON COMPANY Docket No. 50-289 SP (Three Mile Island Nuclear
)
(Restart)
Station, Unit No. 1)
(Reopened Proceeding)
AAMODTS DO NOT OPPOSE UCS MOTIONS The Aamodts do not oppose Union of Concerned Scientiet Motions for acceptance of late filed brief and an extension of time to complete briefing.
The participation of UCS should not be arbitrarily cut short for want of sufficient time to adequately prepare their briefing.
A full hearing of the exceptions taken by UCS by the Appeal Board would be in the interest of health and safety of the population at risk in the event of the restart of TMI-1.
We would note that the protracted time' period required for repair associated with the steam generator problem moots any concern relating to timeliness as it might affect the parties to the proceeding.
