Andrew E. McMunark TELEPHONE 1 (315) 524-4446 Ext. 205 or 293 KNIH January, 1982 The reactor power level was maintained at 100% until 1/10 when it was reduod to a 48% to perform a series o". turbine valve and trip tests. The power level was re-stored to 100% after the tests were ocupleted.
)
On 1/20 and 1/22 the reactor power level was reduced to-99% and-971, respec-l tively, to perform periodic tests on the auxiliary feedwater system and mapnnents.
l On 1/25 the unit automatically tripped off line due to a tube leak in the "B" Steam Generator which caused a rapid drop in Reactor Ooolant System pressure M11ch initiated a reactor trip and Safety Injection.
The unit rescained off line at the end of the report month.
- GDea STATICN Maintenance Report January, 19821 l
l During January routine inspections and maintenance were performed including jobs associated with the 1-25-82 transient. Major safety related maintenance included:
1.
Repair of a weld defect on the suction piping to the Reactor Drain Tank ptmp. A pinhole leak was found in a cold lap on the weld. '1he weld was repaired. The line is ammon to Residual Heat Removal syster. recirculation phase suction fran containment.
2.
Replacement of the rupture disc on the Pressurizer Relief Tank.
The disc performed properly during the 1-25-82 actuation of the relief valve.
