Seismic Reassessment of Major Mechanical Equipment In response to a question from the Equipment Qualification Branch during a telephone conversation on January 12, 1982, we confirm that major mechanical equipment essential to the safe shutdown (identified in Supplementary Seismic Evaluation Report EF2-53,332, dated July 15,1981) was reassessed for the effects of site specific earthquake.
The seismic reassessment program considered structural integrity as well as operability requirements. provides a list of major mechanical equipment with corresponding equipment damping values used in reassessment.
Attacnment 2 contains the floor response spectra (for several equipment damping values including 2% equipment damping) for your reference.
