The purpose of this submittal is to request the amendment o f Special Nuclea r Materials License SNM-1833 for LaSalle County Station Unit 2 as issued by Reference (a) and amended by References (b) thru (e). The original application for the subject SNM license requested that it not expire "until the issuance o f the station operating license". Currently, the scheduled construction comple-tion date for LaSalle County Unit 2 is September 30, 1983. This date extends beyond the current expiration date o f SNM-1833. .i i' .. well as the uncertainty now associated with "near term operating license" issuance, the latest expiration date of SNM-1833 should be revised. Therefore, it is requested that the expiration date for SNM-1833 be revised to December 31, 1983. This revised date was identified as the " latest completion date" in the request for construction permit extension submitted to the Director of Nuclear Raactor Regulation in Reference (f). No fees are enclosed, in accordance with the exemption granted under Section 170.11(3) o f Title 10 CFR Part 170. l Six (6) copies of this request for amendment are provided for your use.
