SUPPLEMENTAL MEETlHG QUESTIONS Reactor Vessel Examination (1) Discuss the techniques that will be used to detect near surface flaws 1
on the inner surface of the reactor vessel.
If electronic gating of the ultrasonic signal will be used to suppress near-surface effects, estimate the depth of the inner surface that will not be examined.
(2), Identify the specific areas where the vessel welds could not be examined to the extent required by Section XI.
