by the Nuclear Regulatory Comunission (NRC) for the possession and use of l
various radiopharmaceutical sources for medical procedures. This l
notification is in accordane= with NRC policy of informing public officials when organizations 14cated in their juriddiction are first licensed.
l Included among the Nuclear Regulatory Cosmission's responsibilities are the reguistion of the use of radioactive materials for industrial applications, medical diagnosis and treatment, applied research and development, academic research, and in consumer products. A license is intended to provide reasonable assurance that the public health and safety is adequately protected by prescribing specific conditions and requirements for the use of authorized radioactive sources.
We will be periodically performing u====aunced inspections of this i
facility to insure safe use of such licensed estarials. Inspection reports are routinely made available to the public following proprietary review.
