-521/81 PBRD-50-553/81-21, -554/81-15 The subject deficiency was initially reported to NRC-0IE, Region II, Inspector P. A. Taylor on August 10, 1981 as NCR's HTN QAB 8101 and PBN QAB 8101. Our first, second, and third interim reports were submitted on September 9, November 6, 1981, and January 5, 1982. In accordance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR Part 50 this letter constitutes the fourth -

interim report on the subject deficiency. TVA understands that the NRC is developing a " position paper" on the generic implications of this issue and that this will be forwarded to licensees possibly in the form of an Information Notice. TVA is awaiting this information from the NRC before further action will be taken on this NCR. We anticipate transmitting an additional report on this deficiency on or before September 30, 1982.
