Zion Station Units 1 and 2 N
Supplemental Response to I.E.
Bulletin 80-16, Misapplication of Rosemount Pressure Transmitters NRC Docket N0s. 50-295 and 50-304 Reference (a):
D. Peo. oles letter to J. Keppler dated July 30, 1980.
Dear Mr. Keppler:
Reference (a) provided our Zion Station response to the subject bulletin.
In that response, we indicated that three (3)
Rosemount Model 1152 transmitters, with output code "D",
were on order for possible replacement o f existing transmitters.
We stated that the NRC would be notified prior to our use o f these transmitters in any safety-related application.
Please be informeo that Zion Station has received these transmitters which have since been modified from an output code "D" to an output cooe "E" using an approved modification and testing procedure.
In our judgment, this modification eliminates the concern raised in I.E.Bulletin 80-16.
Therefore, we are removing the restrictions concerning their future use in safety-related applications.
Please address any further questions that you may have concerning this matte r to this of fice.
Very truly yours, E. Douglas Swartz Nuclear Licensing Administrator 1m cc:
