Dear Mr. Keppler:

In Reference (a), Commonwealth Edison indicated that we would provide a revised schedule for completion of I.E. Bulletin 79-14 requirements at Dresden Station Units 2 and 3 and Quad Cities Station Units 1 and 2. The purpose of this letter is to provide this revised schedule and to also provide, for your information, our schedule for completing the control Rod Drive (CRD) Insert / Withdrawal (I/W) piping support modifications.

At Quad Cities Unit 1, the I.E. Bulletin 79-14 inside drywell work has been completed. I.E. Bulletin 79-14 outside drywell drawings are to be completeo and issued for construction by October 1983 and actual work should be completed by June 1984. The CRD Insert / Withdrawal inside and outside drywell work is scheduled to be complete at the end o f the Unit I next scheduled outage. This outage will begin in early September 1982, lasting approximately 12 '

to 17 weeks, with a completion date o f about January 1983.

Quad Cities Unit 2 I.E. Bulletin 79-14 inside drywell work and CR0 Insert / Withdrawal outside crywell work has been completed.

I.E. Bulletin 79-14 outside drywell pipe support construction drawings are scheduled to be issued by September 1982 with a work completion date o f June 1983. CRD Insert / Withdrawal inside drywell work is scheduled to be completed at the next scheduled outage to begin in March 1983 and end in May 1983. At present, four out o f sixteen hanger CRD I/W modifications have been completed.

e J. G. Keppler March 2, 1982 At Dresden Unit 2, the completed items are I.E. Bulletin 79-14 inside drywell work, and CRD Insert / Withdrawal inside and outside drywell work. I.E. Bulletin 79-14 outside drywell pipe support construction drawings will be issued by tbvember 1982. All modification work should be completed by July 1983.

Dresden Unit 3 is currently in a scheduled outage. I.E.

Bulletin 79-14 inside drywell and CRD I/W inside and outside drywell work will be completed at the end of this outage (May 1982) . All piping support drawings have been issued for the outage related work. I.E. Bulletin 79-14 outside.drywell pipe support drawjngs will be issued by October 1983 with actual work being completed by June 1984.

These are the projected schedules based upon the scope of work as we understand it at this time, and may be subject to change.
