MAR 091982m- :E RESPONSE TO MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME k E % 8E gE as On March 5, 1982, Commonwealth E.'ison Com on um

(" Edison") received a copy of the Rockford League of Women Voters'

(" League" ) Motion for an Extension of Time in which to file its brief in support of its exceptions to the Licensing Board's decision dismissing the League as a party to the Byron operating license proceedings.

Although we believe that any delays regarding the determination of the merits of the League's appeal may prejudice Edison's in-1/ in view of the circumstances which the League's

counsel claim give rise to the need for additional time, the relatively short period of the requested extension, and the 1/

In its Motion, the League commits to filing its brief

\\

with the Appeal Board by messenger.

Edison's decision l

not to oppose the League's present motion is predicated I

upon the condition that the League serve its brief on l

Edison by messenger as well.

In the event the Appeal l

Board grants the League's Motion, Edison requests that it instruct the League to serve its brief on Edison by messenger so as to avoid any further unnecessary delays.

Such a requirement would not pose an undue burden on the l

since the offices of counsel for the League and

League, counsel for Edison are less than one block from each other.
