Dear Mr. Keppler:

.This is the sixth status report on the control panel weld inspection program at Byron which was described in reference (a).
The following actions have been completed:
1.
All safety related panels have been inspected at byron Station.
i 2.
Westinghouse has completed their review of the Systems i
Control Panels in the control room, and have made recommendations for strengthening of the boards.
We are implementing those recommendations.
3.
The inspection results from the other safety related panels indicate that the panels are acceptable as is.
However, we are seeking the individual board vendor's concurrence with I
this conclusion.
We do not yet have that concurrence.
For your information, the same actions that were completed l
at the Byron Station were also completed at the Braidwood Station with similar results.
