Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Containment FHA and Smoke Detector Schedules In your letter of January 28, 1982 (NRC/TMI-82-004) you requested that we provide you our schedules for installation of in-containment smoke detectors and for submittal of the containment portion of the Fire Hazards Analysis (FHA). This letter provides the requested schedules.
Based on the characterization from our efforts to date, the smoke detectors will be installed and operable, one in each of the two D-ring areas of the containment, by April 30, 1982.
As we indicated to your staff at the meeting on this subject held January 26, 1982, and as was found acceptable by your staff at that meeting, there is a factor which may affect this schedule, which is predicated on March 31, 1982 completion of the Decon Experiment and allows thirty (30) days for coordination of the containment entry (s) associated with preparation for smoke detector installation, and actual installation and testing.
If for any reason the Decon Experiment is delayed it will necessitate an equivalent delay in the smoke detector installation schedule.
With regard to the Fire Hazards Analysis, the containment portion of the FHA will be submitted by April 30, 1982.
