Dear Mr. Grucci:

Enclosed please find NRC export license XB001141 issued to the U.S. Army Armament Materiel Readiness Command on February 11, 1982. The license authorizes the export of 64,000 curies of dispersed tritium incorporated in sealed light sources for assembly into optical instruments for weapons systems to 10 destinations. As my staff informed you, exports are not authorized to Bahrain, India, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Taiwan under this license. The addition of these six destinations to the license remains under review.

With regard to your anticipated exports of Promethium-147, this material does not require a specific NRC license for export.

It may be exported pursuant to NRC's general licensing provisions 10 CFR Part 110 Section 110.24(a) which authorizes the export of byproduct material having an atomic number from 3 to 83 to most countries without the requirement for a specific license.
