Dear Mr. Williams:
I The purpose of this letter is to coment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement related to the operation of Illinois Power Company's Clinton Power Station Unit No. 1 (Docket No. 50-461).
The Illinois Department of Conservation and the Illinois Department of Public Health have indicated to us that the possible presence of pathogenic amoebae (Nyglaeria fowleri) in Clinton Lake could present a health risk.
In view of this potential problem, we request that you consider including a risk evaluation, appropriate mitigation measures and the need for monitoring in your final environmental impact statement.
ipcerely 1/ 1
~
