Dear Mr. Lessing:
In your letter to me dated December 22, 1981, you requested data o k
[f' low-level radioactive waste generators in West Virginia.
t//p I have enclosed a computer printout of all Commission licensees in West Virginia. This listing represents potential generators. We do not have specific data for each licensee.
In assessing their low-level waste responsibilities under the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Act of 1980, states have been surveying their licensees to develop an accurate picture of current and projected waste generation.
If you plan to survey West Virginia licensees, you may wish to compare the list using the enclosed program codes and determining the type of licensee.
For example, the first licensee is coded 03120 which is "other measuring systems". This licensee probably possesses only sealed source measuring devices and would not generate wastes under this license.
I have also enclosed a copy of a report prepared by NUS Corporation for the Department of Energy that made some very rough state-by-state l
