The plant was immediately depressurized from 45 psig ~t eego o (gpm and Through Steam Generator (OTSG) had a primary to secondary 1 tm pheric pressure.

0.5 gpm.

Water sample taken on 'B' OTSG (containing approximately 16,000 gallons) indicated an activity level of 4 x 10-4 uc/ml cesium isotope 137.; A sump monitor program has been established to ensure that no uncontrolled release t'o the environment will occur.

The licensee is making preparation to inspect and repair the generator.

All generated contaminated water in 'B' 0TSG will be processed through the Waste Evaporator.

Media interest may occur because of public sensitivity to TMI related events.

Neither the NRC nor the licensee plan to issue a press release.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been informed.

This preliminary notification is issued for information only and the NRC plans to continue monitoring events as they occur.
