SUBJECT:
Fort St.
Vrain Unit No.
1 TMI Action Plan Item 1.A.1.3.2
Dear Mr. Clark:
With reference to your letter of January 5, 1982, we have scheduled our next licensing exams for May 24, 1982 in order to meet Item 1.A.1.3.2.
In the past, we have found that four to five weeks was ample time upon completion of the licensing exams for the NRC to grade the exams, and issue the licenses. We have found recently, however, that delays as high as t h r_e_e to_ four months can be experienced.
If in fact we experience these types of delays after the May 24, 1982 licensing exam, we could be in serious trouble meeting the July 1, 1982 date.
In short, our capability to meet the July 1,1982 date is highly dependent on the NRC's ability to grade the exams and issue the licenses in a timely fashion. We are allowing over four (4) weeks for tais process.
If we experience excessive delays which are not under our control, we will be unable to meet the July 1, 1982 date.

." We would appreciate receiving your comments on this matter as soon as possible, as we"are not able to assess the NRC workload and the delays that might be experienced. We can anticipate, however, that with the many licensees all trying to meet this deadline, the workload could become overwhelming. We do not, at this time, have any other alternatives for meeting the requirements while at the same time -trying to meet the requirements for limiting overtime.
Very truly yours,
