Dear Mr. Tedesco:

This is a late response to your request dated January 12, 1982. The receipt of your letter in my office on February 9, 1982 is the cause of the untimeliness of this response.

The Jacksonville Electric Authority does not have a nuclear plant in the planning, construction or operating phase. This response is considered to be a negative response to your new application survey.

The Jacksonville Electric Authority does have under consideration the purchase of a share of Plant Vogtle currently under construction by Georgia Power Company. Should a deter-mination be raade to purchase a part of this plant, it is my understanding that at that time JEA would be required to make a separate application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

The status of this acquisition is too uncertain for us to furnish an-j dates as to any involvement with the Commission.
