Dear Mr. Regan:
Thank you for your letter of January 22, 1982, informing us of your intent to prepare an environmental impact statement on the proposed Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project, Units 1 and 2, and the related scoping activities.
Puget Sound Power and Light Company is considering Franklin D. Roosevelt Reservoir storage as one possible source of cooling water for the proposed plant.
The Bureau of Reclamation, therefore, does wish to be designated as a co-operating agency in the NEPA compliance process for this project.
Members of our regional staff have recently discussed the EIS process and schedule with Mr. Jan Norris, NRC's Environmental Project Manager. We will provide the information necessary to cover our potential water marketing s
activities to him on or before March 1,1982, in order to meet your schedule.
We very much appreciate this opportunity to merge our NEPA compliance responsibilities.
