This refers to your December 29, 1981 response to tur December 23,1981 letter, concerning the fee requirement for review of your Model flo. TN-9C package. Your letter submitted an amendment fee of $5,500, and requested that we reconsider our decision to classify your December 14,1981 applica-tion as requiring a major amendment review.
.The determination that a new certificate review would be required, rather than a major amendment review, was made by the NRC Licensing staff.
According to the Licensing staff, the subject package requires a " complete analysis." Since the Model No. TH-9C containment vessel is new and the package will be reviewed in its entirety, the application fee requested in our December 23 letter is appropriate.
Your letter also referred to a previously submitted application for modification to the TN-8 design, which was processed as a minor amendment request. Please be infonaed that the review of the Model No. TN-8L package.
was considered as an amendment to Certificate of Compliance Ho. 9015 because the design changes were minor and did not require a review of the entire package.
Your application will be forwarded to the Licensing staff for processing upon receipt of the additional $1,500 fee. Payment of the fee should be made to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Connission and mailed to the attention of Ms. Glenda Jackson of this office. Prior to issuance of the certificate, you will be notified of the approval fee required in accordance with 5170.31 (110). If, after the review of your application is completed, the cost for the review is less than the approval fee, you will be refunded any over-payment.
