Dear Administrative Judges:

As requested by the Board's Order of January 15, 1982, I an providing a current status report on the discovery proceedings between Intervenor and Staff.

As indicated by fir. Hirsch's letter of December 17, 1981, the Staff has agreed to answer approximately one hundred and thirty (130) interroga-tories of the five hundred and seventy-three propounded by the Intervenor to Staff and Comission consultants.

Intervenor has agreed to withdraw those indicated in ifr. Hirsch's letter.

The discovery responses of the Los Alanos flational Laboratory consult-ant and the NRC Staff are near completion. The responses of the Battelle Laboratory consultant have only recently been contracted.

It is anticipated that Staff will conplete all discovery agreements by nid-flarch.
