MINUTES OF CRGR MEETING #5 Due to inclement weather and the availability of staff, the fifth meeting l
of the Comittee to Review Generic Requirements was held on January 13, 21, and 22,1932. All members were in attendance except Mr. Heltemes on January 13 and Mr. Jordan on January 22. The following matters were considered:
l (1) Mr. Wenzinger of RES briefed the Comittee on Regulatory Guide 1.68.3, Preoperational Testing of Instrument and Control Air Systems. The Committee supports issuing this Reg. Guide, but before the document is issued, the Implementation section requires modification to explicitly specify the applicability of Reg. Guide 1.68.3 to Ols, NT0Ls and reactors under construction. The Reg. Guide implementation was to be discussed further at the next meeting.
1 (2) The Committee continued discussion on the topic of " Facilities, l
Equipment and Procedures to Cope with Emergencies in Nuclear Power Plants." Mr. Grimes IE, discussed concerns his office had with the proposed requirements of the CRGR. Related to this subject, Mr. Ilugh Thompson, NRR, briefed the Comittee on how NRR proposed to implement and evaluate the Control Room Design Review. The DEDROGR staff will revise the proposed requirenents based on CRGR l
guidance and then the CRGR together with the NRR and IE Office Directors plan to finalize the proposed requirements at the February 3, 1982 CRGR meeting.
