Carroll County Station Units 1 and 2 Construction Schedule NRC Docket Nos. 50-599 and 50-600

Dear Mr. Denton:

This is to inform you of a change to the construction schedule for Carroll County Station Units 1 and 2. These units were previously scheduled to begin operation in 1993 and 1994. They are now scheduled for 1999 and 2000. The delay is due principally to changes in our projections o f load growth.

The urgency of our request for an' early review for the site is greatly reduced but it is not being withdrawn. Establishment of acceptability of this site is important to our planning for both this station and a fossil-fired station to be built at another site. An initial decision by the NRC on the Carroll County site is not needed before January, 1984.
