Subject:
Modification of Maine Yankee Technical Specifications Concerning Feedwater Trip System.
Dear Sir:
Pursuant to Section 50.59 of the Commission Rules and Regulations, Maine Yankee proposed the following modifications to Appendix A of the Operating License.
Proposed Chance Reference is made to the Technical Specifications contained in Appendix A to the Operating License No. DPR-36 issued to Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company for the Maine Yankee plant. We propose to modify these specifications as follows:
A.
Replace pages 4.6-1 and 4.6-4 through 4.6-6 of Specification 4.6 with the attached revised pages 4.6-1 and 4.6-4 through 4.6-6.
B.
Replace page 4.1-9 of Specification 4.1 with the attached revised page 4.1-9.
C.
Insert pages 3.22-1 and 3.22-2 of Specification 3.22 Reasons for Chanae Reference (b) transmitted Amendment 59 relating to Maine Yankee's steam line break analysis. During the review associated with Amendment 59, the NRC O
recuested that technical specifications be submitted on limiting conditions 5
for operation and surveillance of the main feedwater isolation system assumed to function in the steam line break analysis. This proposed change is

This change has been reviewed by the Plant Operation Review Committee and Nuclear Safety Audit Review Committee.
Fee Determination This proposed change requires an approval that involves a single safety issue and is deemed not to involve a significant hazards consideration. For these reasons. Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company proposes this change as a Class III Amendment. A payment of $4,000 was submitted along with Reference (c).
Schedule of Chance These changes to the Maine Yankee Technical Specifications will be effective upon Commission approval.
