SUBJECT:
SUtmARY OF MEETING ON EMERGENCY OPERATION $'FAC!i3TY On January 7,1982 the NRC staff met with representatives of Louisiana Power and Light Co. to discuss their proposed Emergency Operations Facility for Waterford 3.
A list of attendees is attached.
During an earlier meeting on the same subject, LP&L had been informed that Connission approval would be required for an E0F located beyond 20 miles of the site. After learning that NRC staff would not recommend approval of their proposed facility, which was 25 miles from the site, LP&L altered their plans for the EOF. They now plan to establish a temporary EOF in two trailors on-site, and use the originally proposed E0F as a backup. They also plan to establish the permanent E0F in the near site training facility, which will be completed by December 1984.
The staff assured LP&L that this proposal appeared to be acceptable. LP&L will submit design details by January 27, 1982 for staff review.
