Based on the results oi'an NRC' inspection conducted on November 17-18, 1981, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
Criterion V of Appendix B to Title 10, Part 50 of the Code of Federal Regula-tions states in part, " Activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented instructions, procedures,.or drawings,... and shall be accom-plished in accordance with these instructions, procedures, or drawings...."
Paragraph 4.1 of Corporate Quality Assurance Procedure 3.1.8.2, Revision A, Nonconformances - Defect / Deviation Reporting per 10 CFR Part 21 states " Dis-coveries of conditions adverse to the quality of safety related parts, assem-blies and products shall be reported to Nuclear Safety Sub-committee (NSS) of the Corporate Product Safety Committee as soon as possible.
Contact may be made to any member of the sub-committee.
See RD&E Manual Procedure 1.5.1 which describes the sub-committee charter and membership.

Contrary to the above, Foxboro-Jordan, Inc., a subsidiary of the Foxboro Com-pany, failed to' report to the Nuclear Safety Sub-committee a problem concerning heat damage to geared limit switch housings in Electrodyne valve motor opera-tors.
A TVA March 25, 1981_10 CFR Part 50.55(e) report of the deficiency identified that Foxboro-Jordan had been notified of the problem.
