PALISADES PLANT - RESPONSE TO IE INSPECTION REPORT 81-14 NRC letter dated December 9, 1981 to R B DeWitt, regarding an investigation conducted during the period June 23 through July 9, 1981, cited two activities which appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements. The reference letter (Inspection Report No. 50~255/81-14) requested Consumers Power Company to respond in writing on the corrective action taken to assure proper and accurate documentation and effective supervision of security personnel to obviate recurrence.
Attached is our response to this request. A summary of the corrective action taken and results achieved is documented.
In addition, Consumers Power Company Las conducted its own audit / investigation of the Palisades Security Program in response to NRC concerns. When finalized, in February the audit /
investigation report along with its findings, conclusions and recommendations will be transmitted to the NRC.
We request that the attachment to this letter be withheld from public disclosure since it concerns subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to 10 CFR 73.21(c)(2).
