I 1.

These methods of installation are appliceble only to non-Category I items.

l Category I and seismically supported non-Category I items (e.g., II over I supports) can only be supported by these methods f

if shown on engineering documents (drawings or specifications).

I 2.

Installations with through-bolts shall be done as shown on Sketches No. I and No. 2 of Appendiz M.

3.

Installation with concrete erpansion anchors shall be done as shown

'on Sketch No. 3 of Appendiz M.

The total load per support shall not exceed 200 pcunds.

No anchor or bolt shall be located closer than 9 inches to any wall 1

opening, free edge of any wall or any penetraticn greater than j

6 inchas in any dimension except that for loadc less than 25 pounds 7

an edgs dictance of 2 inches may be used.

For loads greater than 25 pounds, the minimum center-to-center spacing between nupports shall be 5'-0" horizontally and vertically.

For loads less than.25 pounds, no more than one support shall be l

installed on one concrete masonry unit block.

The maximum load (including load due to the eccentricity of the o

attachment) applied to any one through-bolt or concrete expansion anchor shall not exceed 50 pounds in tension and 100 pounds in i

shear.

A through-bolt may be installed in a mortar joint provided there is j

no joint reinforcing steel.

No vertical reinforcing steel shall be cut while drilling for through-bolt installation unless replacement reinforcing steel is provided per Sketch No. 2 of Appendiz M.

Drop-in flush or Kwik-bolts shall not be larger than 1/4-inch in
