This report gives the results of a BWST finite element analysis performed to verify the integrity of the tanks.

Enclosed is a report prepared by Structural Mechanics Associates (SMA) which describes the finite elpment model and analytical results of the tank evaluation. The tank analysis was limited to tank 1T-60 because it was shown to be the -vorst case condition, and the results did not result in any predicted excessive loading or permanent deformation in the tank walls, bolts or bolt chairs. The report provides the calculated loads and ASME code allowablec used for acceptance criteria.

This report should provide the necessary information for the NRC staff to review and concur with our conclusion that the borated water storage tanks have not been permanently damaged as a result of the ring vall foundation q

cracking. The report recommends that the highest loaded bolt chair velds be dye penetrant testea The test was performed and all the velds of the bolt chair passed. We plan remedial work to restore the tanks to a level condition and thereby relieve the loads imposed on the tanks due to settlement.

Another 50 55(e) report, either interim or final, vill be submitted on or before March 15, 1982.
