The Conmission has recently received your letter requesting an extension of the comment period on two proposed rules concerning emergency planning, one on exercises and one on offsite preparedness reviews for low-power operating licenses.
The Commission has recently extended for two weeks the comment deadline for both proposed emergency planning rule changes.
Copies of the Federal Register Notices are enclosed. The Commission believes this extension will accommodate additional informed response yet not delay the rulemakings.
The Commission will, however, make every effort to consider all comments :eceived.
