SUBJECT:
PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT NUCLEAR COMPONENTS TO CANADA (XCOM0586)
On December 30, 1981, Teledyne Wah Chang Albany filed an application to export 65,000 pounds of Zircaloy-4 tube shells to Canada for installation in the Pickering A Nuclear Power Reactor. Teledyne has requested expeditious processing of this license application as the components are ready for immediate shipment and are urgently' required by the customer.
The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets-the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amended, and would not be inimical to the common defense and security of the United States.
In view of the above considerations, the staff issued the license without the normal 15-day waiting period.
