SUBJECT:
WAIVER OF FEE - CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 9153 On July 1,1931, Teledyne Energy Systems filed a request to amend Certificate of Compliance No. 9085 for approval of the Model No.1S shipping container. The application was classified by the licensing staff as requiring a major amendment to tne certificate, and a $5,500 fee was received pursuant to fee Category llB.
We were later informed by the staff, nowever, that for the convenience of the Comission a new certificate would be issued for the additional coi tents instead of amending Certificate No. 9085. Tnis was confirmed in a memoranoum dated December 21, 1981, from the Transportation Certification Branch, NMSS.
Certifi-cate of Compliance 9153 was issued November 1,1981, for the Sentinel 1S shipping con tainer.
Certificate of Compliance No. 9153 is subject to fee Category llB. The actual cost to process the application totaled $8,398. Notwithstanding the requirement of fee Category 118 for the payment of a $7,000 application fee and a $1,398 approval fee ($8,398 less $7,000) for tne new certificate - the $5,500 fee is the correct fee for the issuance of Certificate of Compliance No. 9153 since the separate certificate was issued solely for the convenience of the Commission.
