the Board to visit the GE control room simulator at Tulsa, Oklahoma dL A Memorandum and Order of October 16, 1981 announced the i entjg-of March 1982.

Subsequently, with the cooperation of Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, we have arranged that this visit will take place on March 5, 1982 from 9 am to 3 pm., at the General Electric BWR/6 Training Center, which is located about one hour's drive from Tulsa at the site of the Black Fox nuclear plant.

Representatives of Sunflower Alliance, Inc.,

and Ohio Citizens for Responsible Energy have indicated an intention of attending.

During the visit, the Board is interested in seeing simulations--in the simulator of the Perry control room--of a variety of malfunctions, ranging from serious accidents ta single or multiple instrument or gauge failures of no operational significance. We wish to be informed about how operators can distinguish among these condit ions and to examine portions of the control room manuaPto see whether appropriate, easy-to-use guidance is supplied.

We then wish to see similar simulations in the Nuclenet 1000 control complex and to comoare the ease of operator response in the two simulators.

Intervenors may suggest subjects of interest to them in written filings submitted at least two weeu refore the visit.
