Gentlemen-EP
-o The subject Certifieste of Compliance as issued lists the maximum quantity of material per package as 10,100 curies. This is the nominal fuel loading for the capsule (68 thermal watts) as specified in Para.1.2.1.2.1. All analyses and evaluations were based on the maximum fuel inventory of 12,000 curies to which the capsules could be loaded. This is stated in the application in the following sections: 1.2.3, " Contents of Packaging"; 3.4, " Thermal Evaluation for Normal Conditions of Transport"; 3.5.1.1,
" Analytical Model-Hypothetical Accident Thermal Evaluation"; and 5.2, " Source Specification."
Teledyne herewith respectfully requests an administrative amendment to the Certificate of Compliance No. 9153, Rev. O, to cover fuel loadings up to 12,000 curies and en-closes a check for $150 to cover the administrative costs associated therewith.
