The inspector confirmed thru Mr. John Donahue, Organic Laboratories L
Corporation, that the gas chromatograph formerly possessed by l
Organic Laboratories had been sold to LABEX as indicated in Vandy l-Miller's memo dated October 30, 1981. Mr. P. Schweich, Vice President of LABEX, Schaumburg, IL (800-621-1771) confirmed that they had purchased a Hewlett-Packard gas chromatograph from Organic Laboratories Corporation in April 1981. He further stated that the unit had been sold af ter refurbishing by LABEX to A.R.O.L., Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
A telephone conversation with Mr. R. Curtin of A.R.D.L. confirmed that they were in possession of the Gas Choratograph, Model N-1002 with 2.Hewlett-Packard Model 2-6195 detector-cells containing Ni-
- 63. Mr. Curtin stated that A.R.D.L. was waiting for a leak test kit from Hewlett-Packard in order that they could leak-test the gas chromatograph before sending in their license application which was l
ready to be submitted to the Materials Licensing Section, USNRC, l
Region III.

Evaluation by Regional Office Region I has evaluated the information supplied by the licensee and the persons contacted and has determined that a closecut survey is not necessary and this license should be retired. The Region III Materials Licensing Section is cognisant of situation with LABEX and A.R.D.L. and plans to take appropriate action.
