Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Q1 February 19, 1981, Mr. Virgil Brownlee of NFC Regicn II was notified of a potential significant deficielcy or potential substantial safety hazard ccncerning circuit board failure in Westinghouse 7300 series Nuclear Power Plant Caltrol InstrunEntaticn. Q1 March 20,1981 a follow-up letter reporting that Nuclear Digineering'was reviewing the cmpoicnt failures that have occurred cn individual cards of the ccntrol instrumentaticn since the ccntrol instrumentaticn had been installed.
'Ihe results of Nuclear B1gineering's review are that the failures of electrical compcncnt or card failures of the Westinghouse 7300 series Nuclear Power Plant Ccntrol Instrumentaticn are in line with normal plant operaticns.
It is Nuclear B1gineering's judgenuit that the above item is not reportable under 10CFR50.55(e) or 10CFR21. 'Ihis is ccnsidered a final report cn the matter.
