Letter G Owsley (Exxon) to Eisenhut (NRC) dated November 23, 1981 (subject: Exxon Nuclear PWR Small Break LOCA Evaluation Model)
Mr Eisenhut's October 31, 1980 letter, containing NUREG-0737, requested a response to item II.K.3.30, Revised Small-Break Loss-of-Coolant-Accident Methods To Show Compliance with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix K by January 1, 1982. Currently using Exxon and Westinghouse fuel, we have identified that both vendors will not have completed their review of their small-break loss-of-coolant-accident methods by January 1, 1982 Westinghouse plans to complete their review of this concern by April 1, 1982 (Reference 1);
Exxon plans to complete their review by June 30, 1982 (Reference 2).
We request a change in schedule for itet II.K.3.30 to July 30, 1982 to allow time for Westinghouse and Exxon to complete their reviews.
