Please be advised that as Supervisor of the. Town of Cortlan'dt, I have a very keen interest in the safe operation of the Indian Point Power plants.
Because of this interest, I am very desirous of participliting in the upcoming Indian Point Safety Hearings.
As the Chief Executive Officer of the Town, I can voice the concern of the Town's 36,000 residents, as well as the concern of the other 110,000 residents who reside within the ten mile emergency planning area.
Therefore, I respectfully request that I be recognized as a limited participant in the proceedings before the board and that I be allowed to voice try concern as well as my ideas with respect to the safe operations of the Indian Point Plants which lie within the Town of Cortlandt.
For your information, I have attached a copy of a statement which I tried to have entered upon the record at the Hearing Conferences held on December 2,1981.
I believe that this statement outlines some of the aspects and reasons for my being granted permission in being a limited participant in these Hearings.
