Dhear Sir s-Purpose of this letter, is to present for your consideration, one person's thoughts, position and interests, involved in maze created by the 1979 nuclear " accident" at Three Mile Island plant # 2.

At present age of 84 a concerned stockholder of General.Public Utilities common shares, purchased 1971 for incone, in contemplation of re-tirement, I have suffered with others, investors, customers of G. P. U. and people residing in Three Mile Island area.

Have~ communicated details of my situation to Chairman-Penn-s'ylvania Public Utilities Commission-Susan M. Shanaman. Response has been a gracious letter and copy of-in my opinion-a masterly statement, made before a congressional committee, describing past hectic devblopements, present stata and an analysis of possible solutions for " clean-up" of Three -Mile Island and the financing thereof. As to the latter, FedeEa1 government bureaux and departments s* pend great suns yearly, in various research projects i.e.

synfuels, shale oil, solar experiments etc. Thiee Mile Island has-inadvertently-resulted in a vast study, which will save billions of dollars and perhaps many lives, averting similar occurrences, as well as acting the part of a laboratory-dolving into the many remaining mysteries yet to be found in nuclear energy.

Information and experiences obtained will also be of inestim-l able value to all public utilities-as-again in my opinion-nuclear energy is the only i'uel for the future. Hence I feel that-in all fairness-the financial burden should be borne equally by all. We-the G. P. U. stockholders are presently bearing the costs-the entire nation will reap continuing benefits for many years.. Trusting you and your_ staff are in general agreement with thoughts expressed herein, I an, in appreciation,

.I Yours truly,

[
