SUBJECT:

PUGET SOUND POWER & LIGHT COMPANY SKAGIT/HANFORD NUCLEAR PROJECT N

UNITS 1 and 2, DOCKET NO. 50-522 and 50-523

Dear Mr. Denton:

I wish to confirm that agreement in principle has been reached

~

with the Council on the overall environmental review and licens-ing schedule proposed for the Skagit/Hanford project following review by the EFSEC staff, my office, and the Council's Appli-cation Review Committee.

The projected schedule will be recommended to the full Council for ratification on January 11,

'1982.

' ~

Our' review of the proposed schedule indicates that some accera-tion 'of the schedule for issuing the joint federal-state Draft Environmental Statement may be possible.

We are examining this issue with the Council's consultants.

As with the overall scheduling hetion the Council will be considering the detailed

_ consultant work plan for this project on January 11, 1982.

I will advise you of action taken by the Council on these sub-jects at the earliest possible time.
