Reference (L) stated that a report of CP Co's review of controls for handling heavy loads would be submitted to the Staff by December 30, 1981. As outlined in D G Eisenhut's letters of December 22, 1980 and February 3, 1981, CP Co's review is being conducted in two phases. The results of Part I review are enclosed and address the general requirements for the control of heavy loads.
Part II review, addressing specific requirements for the control of heavy loads in spent fuel, reactor vessel and other safe shutdown areas, is still underway. We expect this phase to be completed in the near future and we plan to submit the Part II response by February 26, 1982.
